I did not steal from Nigeria’s oil money – Alison-Madueke

The immediate past minister for petroleum resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, has noted that contrary to popular perception, she never helped herself with the nation’s oil money all through her tenure as minister.

She told This Day in an interview that she would go into her grave with a clear conscience that she never touched any money that belonged to Nigeria all through the time she was in charge of the nation’s cash cow.

Several corruption allegations have been levelled against her, notably among which is the “missing” $20 billion oil money and deals entered into by the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company, NPDC, the exploration arm of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC.
